Our Current Projects

Deuteronomy  6:6-7: And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: and thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

Education

For the past 24 years, VTVMI has been serving as a ray of hope to children who live in underprivileged areas by providing education. Currently, 7 after-school programs are operational teaching to 450 students. The government claims that the literacy rate is 58%, but even then, that only consists of those who can just write their names and/or a few words. Pakistan had the highest number (23 million) out-of-school children in the world. (https://www.dawn.com/news/1774854).

Isaiah 41:17 When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue is parched with thirst, I the Lord will answer them; I the God of Israel will not forsake them.

Sewing Centers

We felt that the Lord called us to broaden our horizons for His ministry. We felt that we needed to reach out to a neglected and overlooked part of our community, that community being widows, divorced women, single mothers, and just women in general who had no one to help them get back on their feet. In Pakistan, women who are widowed or divorced are often shunned due to the believe that their husbands leaving them or passing away was because of their doing. She often ends up reliant on her family members to provide some security and is not really encouraged to try to find a career or education path to help build herself up. this is why we are grateful to God for giving us this vision to try to help these women be self sufficient. we have established sewing centers where they can learn how to become seamstresses and make a living through that. in Pakistan, all the clothes are tailored to specific body sizes, the concept of ready made clothes is slowly working its way into the market but traditionally, you get your clothes tailored. with this sort of profession, it gives them the ability to make a safe and honest living all while being in the comfort of their own home.

Bible Distribution and SD Memory Cards

We had passionately distributed 1000 Bibles and SD memory cards (including a Jesus film, audio Bible, stories of the Old Testament prophets, Parables of Jesus Christ, and many short stories on moral, social issues. These focus on healthy family from Biblical perspectives as well as Christian songs and Psalms) in the local languages and English.

Covid-19

In third world nations, the government made it mandatory for everyone to be quarantined. The average household, which pretty much relied on their income on a daily basis, suffered the most. The authorities were not in any position to provide any assistance to their people with any necessities such as food. These people's only hope was the Lord. VTVMI was able to bless to over 3,500 families during the lockdown, by providing them with dry rations, toiletries, and other supplies to aid them in their time of need.

Living Water

With more than 230 million people in Pakistan, over 70% do not have access to safe drinking water, and 80% do not have access to both safe drinking water and sanitation combined. Roughly around 25 million people still don’t have clean water close to their homes. Since there is such an intense shortage of water in the whole country, the province of Sindh, which is desert, faces the most difficulty. VTVMI is assisting in the remote and deprived communities by establishing water hand pumps to serve and aid the communities.

Christmas Joy Bags

For the past couple years, during the Christmas season, VTVMI has distributed thousands of “Christmas Joy Bags” to the impoverished school going children from the local congregations whose parents are often unable to provide them with basic school necessities. Most of these Sunday school children had never been presented with gifts in their lives. We hope to be able to continue to bless them.

Medical Assistance

Being the 5th largest nation in the world the doctor-to-patient ratio is 1:1300.  Pakistan spent 1.7% of its gross domestic product (GDP) on the public health sector in 2023-2024. Some of the challenges with Pakistan’s healthcare system include insufficient funding, inadequate healthcare workplace, and a lack of focus on preventive health. VTVMI provides medical assistance to those who are in need, as well as helps those in need prosthetic legs or arms for amputees.

Humanitarian Needs

From June 15 to Oct. 2022 (monsoon season), intense flooding occurred which destroyed 60% of the land. VTVMI and Samaritan’s Purse blessed thousands of families by providing tents, dry food rations, warm bedding, and warm clothing for children in the calamitous territories. Later in 2023, “emergency basic hygiene health” seminars were conducted for women; over 4,000 packets of daily practical usage items for women were given. As well as 3,000 water filters  distributed to the families through Filter of Hope.

Eradicating Hunger (Home Gardens)

The poverty level as of 2023 is expected to increase to 39.4%, where most daily physical labor earns USD 3.50. VTVMI is hoping to teach the locals how to grow and harvest seasonal vegetables and fruits in their own yards, especially as the land in Sindh and Balochistan is sandy and akin to desert soil, which make it very challenging to grow anything. VTVMI provides starter seed or plants and supplies soil/fertilizers. The vision is to enable the locals to grow their own fresh and nutrient rich produce which will be cost effective and a sense of accomplishment as the harvest could sustain them for some time. They can later re-grow their garden by saving the harvested seeds. This project, depending on the families, could sustain a family for years to come.

Helping Persecuted Believers

On August 16 2023, 400 Christian homes, 28 churches, and Christian graveyards were burned to ashes by the Muslim extremists in Jaranwala. The Muslims claimed that one family had disrespected their Holy Quran, so it was a collective punishment for the whole Christian community. VTVMI, Samaritan’s Purse and friends from the US and UK were able to provide relief and support to the persecuted families.
